A video of Kennesaw State's football players signing "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" that has gone viral started as a way to try to bring some excitement to the end of a tough training session.
The session occurred last Friday when Jim Kiritsy, the director strength and conditioning, started playing fun songs to get the players to finish the session strong.
“I put the song on expecting the guys to know the song and sing along, but didn’t expect it to have the reaction it did,” he said through a athletics spokesman. “The guys just ran with it.”
The video has been played on YouTube more than 19,000 times as of Tuesday night, and was scheduled to be shown on the TV show Good Morning America Wednesday morning.
The song was originally made famous by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in 1967 and enjoyed new popularity in the 2000 movie “Remember the Titans” about a high school football team.
The Owls in their inaugural season playing football. They will play their first game at East Tennessee State on Sept. 3. They will host Edward Waters on Sept. 12 in their first home game.
