A look at former UGA players in top 10 of NFL draft

The Cincinnati Bengals selected former UGA WR A.J. Green with the fourth pick in the NFL draft, adding to the program's list of top-10 NFL draftees. Here's a look at some of the other Bulldogs who have been high draft picks.

The Detroit Lions made former UGA QB Matthew Stafford the top pick of the 2009 draft.

New Orleans made a surprise move by drafting former UGA defensive lineman Johnathan Sullivan with the sixth pick of the 2003 draft.

Two years earlier, Richard Seymour was taken No. 6 overall by the New England Patriots, and was a key contributor on their Super Bowl winning teams.

Champ Bailey was drafted No. 7 overall by the Washington Redskins in 1999, and is still among the top cornerbacks in the NFL.

Garrison Hearst was drafted No. 3 overall by the Cardinals in 1993.

Running back Tim Worley was drafted No. 7 overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1989.

Former UGA All-Americans (from left) Charley Trippi, John Rauch and Frank Sinkwich were all high draft picks in the 1940s. Trippi was the top pick in the 1945 draft, but began his pro career after serving in World War II. Rauch was drafted No. 2 overall in 1949 and Sinkwich, the 1942 Heisman Trophy winner, was the top pick in the 1943 draft. Other high UGA draft picks included Dan Edwards (No. 9 overall, 1948), Harry Babcock (No. 1, 1953) and Royce Smith (No. 8, 1972).

Herschel Walker, arguably the best UGA player ever and certainly among the most popular, wasn't the highest drafted Bulldog after all. Herschel was the face of the USFL during his short time in the league, but was a fifth-round pick in the 1985 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys.
