Quarterback Justin Thomas, safety Corey Griffin and punter Ryan Rodwell were named Georgia Tech’s players of the week for their performance against Vanderbilt.

Thomas played his best game of the season, running 11 times for a team-high 84 yards, effectively operating the option and throwing 13 times for 136 yards, including his first touchdown pass of the season. Griffin was credited with six tackles and played an instrumental role in Tech’s run defense, which held Vanderbilt to 85 rushing yards on 30 attempts.

A week after being held out of the lineup for his inconsistent play, Rodwell averaged four punts for 42.5 yards. He had a 45-yarder that was fair caught and a 35-yarder that was downed at the Vanderbilt 1-yard line.
