Former Georgia Tech guard Tyaunna Marshall was selected by the New York Liberty in the second round of the WNBA draft Monday night. Marshall, Tech’s all-time leading scorer, was taken with the 14th pick overall and the second of the second round.

Wrote Marshall on her Twitter account, “Grateful to join the New York Liberty franchise! This feeling is unbelievable right now!!”

Marshall joins former Tech guard Alex Montgomery, who is going into her fourth season with the Liberty. Marshall is the sixth Tech player to be drafted by the WNBA.

Marshall’s new team was involved in a blockbuster draft night trade that brought 2010 top overall pick Tina Charles to the Liberty. Marshall isn’t a guarantee to make the roster, but the league raised its roster maximum from 11 to 12 players this year, which will improve her chances.
