Georgia Tech basketball player Abdoulaye Gueye was arrested on a charge of simple battery. Gueye, a redshirt sophomore forward from Senegal, was suspended indefinitely. He did not play in the team’s exhibition game Saturday against Shorter at McCamish Pavilion.

According to the Fulton County jail website, Gueye committed the offense Oct. 26. He was arrested by the Fulton County Sherrif’s Office on Monday and released on bond the same day.

The Georgia code defines simple battery as an act of making physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature or intentionally causing physical harm.
