Wide receiver Avery Sweeting has been dismissed from Georgia State’s football team.

Coach Trent Miles didn’t give a reason for Sweeting’s dismissal, but he had a history of academic issues.

Sweeting, one of the team’s fastest players, caught 16 passes for 224 yards and a touchdown last year.

He caught nine passes for 120 yards in five games in 2013 and three passes for 21 yards in 2012.
