After an impressive freshman season, Georgia Tech punter Pressley Harvin was named to the Ray Guy Award watch list. The award is given annually to the top punter in the country.

Harvin was 16th nationally in punting yardage last season at 44.10 yards per punt, which was also a Tech freshman record. His directional kicking, distance and hang times were instrumental in improving the performance of the Yellow Jackets’ punt team.

Harvin is one of 27 players on the list. Tech’s Durant Brooks won the award in 2007. It is presented by the Augusta Sports Council. Guy, a member of the College Football and Pro Football halls of fame, is from Thomson, outside of Augusta.
