A look at five players who could make a difference for top-ranked Georgia Saturday in its home game against South Carolina.

The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs will put their unbeaten record on the line Saturday when they host South Carolina at Sanford Stadium. Here's a look at five players who could make a difference for the Bulldogs against the Gamecocks. Curtis Compton/ccompton@ajc.com

Nick Chubb, running back: The senior leads the Bulldogs with 765 yards rushing, averaging nearly 100 yards per game. Chubb has 314 yards rushing and four touchdowns in three previous games against the Gamecocks. Curtis Compton/ccompton@ajc.com

Sony Michel, running back: Michel has 629 yards rushing and eight touchdowns, giving UGA arguably the best 1-2 punch from the backfield in the nation. Michel rushed for 133 yards in last season's 28-14 win over the Gamecocks. Curtis Compton/ccompton@ajc.com

Jake Fromm, quarterback: If the Gamecocks design their defense to limit Chubb and Michel, the true freshman might have to step up with a big passing game. Fromm only completed four passes last week against Florida, but completed 18 passes in a 326-yard, two-TD effort in the win over Missouri. Curtis Compton/ccompton@ajc.com

Roquan Smith, linebacker: UGA's leading tackler figures to play a major in defending the Gamecocks. Curtis Compton/ccompton@ajc.com

Lorenzo Carter, linebacker: Team leader in sacks could have a big day if the Gamecocks fall behind early and are forced to pass most of the game. BOB ANDRES /BANDRES@AJC.COM
