New year, new threads.

Georgia Tech opened the season against Virginia Tech with a bold look. Decked in all white, the Jackets' threads carried a hexagonal pattern throughout the uniform, a nod to the adjoining hexagonal cells of yellow jacket nests.

It wouldn't be a new season without a new radical look for Oregon. The Ducks were flashy in neon-like green and yellow uniforms that were topped off with a variant chrome helmet, featuring wings.

Oregon wasn't the only school with chromed hats. Rutgers came out for its season debut against Tulane with shiny helmets.

The Irish made a statement with their "golden" helmets in Dublin. The shoes were also a can't miss.

Maryland revised its "flag" look from last season with a new helmets, but more conservative jerseys.

Northwestern pays homage to the "Northwestern stripe" in its new uniforms.
