At long last, a wide selection of Georgia Tech gear made by Adidas has hit the Tech bookstore.

A tweet from the Tech athletic department's account on Saturday showed racks of replica jerseys and t-shirts on display at the Midtown Barnes & Noble store.

Also, replica jerseys went on sale online Friday night shortly after Tech fans got their first look at the new uniform at a launch party.

They didn’t last long. By Sunday afternoon, the jersey was listed as out of stock on the Tech website, though they are still available at the bookstore.

It represents the enthusiasm that Yellow Jackets fans have for Adidas gear and the new uniform, but is also an additional wait for fans who have long anticipated Tech-branded Adidas apparel. Tech had communicated that apparel would be available beginning in mid-July, but the range of items has not met expectations.

On Sunday, the Tech athletics website had six Adidas items for sale – four polos, a pullover and a pair of shorts, all for men. Fanatics, the NCAA-licensed online distributor of sports merchandise, had the same six items. The Adidas website had five items for purchase on pre-order, all men’s shirts.

A statement released Sunday night from the athletic department said that “fans can anticipate seeing even more Georgia Tech-branded adidas apparel available in retail – both online and in stores – in the coming days, weeks and months.”
