Mill Creek kicker signs with Georgia Tech

Position: K

Committed: Jan. 23

Height, weight: 6-foot, 167 pounds

High school, hometown: Mill Creek, Auburn

What to know: King committed to Old Dominion in December, but after former Georgia Tech commit and kicker Joseph Bulovas withdrew his commitment from Tech on Jan. 23, King received a scholarship offer from Tech. King was one of two commits Tech flipped Jan. 23, along with defensive lineman Antwan Owens.

On finally knowing he’s going to Tech: “I’ve been wanting to go to Georgia Tech since the summer, so it was a huge sigh of relief. Especially to stay in my home state and kick for one of my home teams.”

On receiving a scholarship offer on Jan. 23 from Tech coach Paul Johnson and defensive coordinator Ted Roof: “They offered me a full-ride scholarship, and that’s pretty hard to do as a kicker. … It took about 10 seconds (to accept.)”

On what it means to go to Tech: “It means a lot. I’m going to a great school which is the most important thing. A great education and playing for a great ACC school that went 9-4 and won a pretty-big bowl game against Kentucky.”
