Kennesaw State has hired Agnus Berenato as its women’s basketball coach.

Berenato coached at Georgia Tech for 17 years, the last 15 as head coach. She had won more games in program history (223) before her former assistant and successor Machelle Joseph recently passed her.

Berenato coached at Pittsburgh from 2003-2013 where she again became the winningest coach (161-149) and led them to their first appearance in the NCAA tournament in the 2006-07 season and back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances in the following years.

She has been out of coaching since being let go by Pittsburgh following back-to-back winless seasons in the Big East.

Berenato will replace Nitra Perry, who was fired after four seasons at Kennesaw State, where she went 41-80.
