Georgia Tech guard Jose Alvarado is considered doubtful to questionable to play in the Yellow Jackets’ home game Tuesday night against Notre Dame due to his groin injury, coach Josh Pastner said on the ACC teleconference Monday morning.

He did not practice Sunday as the Jackets began preparing for the Fighting Irish.

“If he doesn’t play Tuesday, he’ll hopefully be ready by Saturday (vs. Duke), and I think if he takes off this whole week, he’ll be ready to go next week for sure, I would assume,” Pastner said.

Alvarado suffered the injury late in Tech’s loss at Clemson last Wednesday and sat out of the Jackets’ home loss to Louisville on Saturday.

Pastner said that forward Abdoulaye Gueye, who is out with what Pastner termed an unspecified medical condition, and guard Brandon Alston, who is not with the team due to a personal matter, are day to day. Gueye and Alston have both not been available for the past two games.
