After a standout performance against Miami Saturday night, Georgia Tech linebacker Jalen Johnson was named ACC linebacker of the week on Monday. Johnson was credited with eight tackles, including two for loss, in the Yellow Jackets’ 27-21 win over the Hurricanes at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

It followed Johnson’s nine-tackle game against North Carolina last week, which was a career high. His two tackles for a loss were a career high.

Johnson is the fifth Tech player to be recognized with the league’s weekly awards, following quarterbacks TaQuon Marshall and Tobias Oliver, left guard Parker Braun and defensive end Anree Saint-Amour.
