Georgia State’s R.J. Hunter was one of 25 players named to the Naismith Trophy watch list by the Atlanta Tipoff Club on Wednesday.

Hunter, a junior, was the only player from a school in the state to make the list. Hunter, the Sun Belt’s preseason player of the year after being named the conference male athlete of the year as a sophomore, is averaging 22.9 points per game this year. He is the first Georgia State player to make the Naismith’s list.

The Naismith Trophy is given annually to the top college basketball player.
