Georgia Tech has the first commitment for its 2019 recruiting class. Grayson High safety Jeremiah Smith announced his decision on his Twitter account Thursday.

Smith is listed at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds. He also reported scholarship offers from Minnesota, Indiana, Wake Forest, Iowa State, Mississippi State and West Virginia. He is listed as a three-star prospect (247 Sports composite) and the No. 103 prospect in Georgia. He announced his offer from Tech on Tuesday.

Gwinnett County now is the recruiting territory of new safeties coach Shiel Wood. It previously was recruited by former defensive coordinator Ted Roof.
