Golden digging into FSU offense

Dec 4, 2014

Georgia Tech safety Jamal Golden is one of the team’s most astute students of game video. His game-icing interception against Miami and his interception return for a touchdown against Clemson were both the product of his finding tendencies in those teams’ offenses.

Golden began his own personal breakdown of Florida State’s special teams and offenses Sunday.

“Just basic stuff I do every week,” Golden said.

It has helped Golden intercept a team-high four passes (tied with cornerback D.J. White) and earn third-team All-ACC. He may have some opportunities Saturday. In 392 pass attempts, Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has thrown 17 interceptions, tied for fourth most in FBS, while also completing 21 touchdown passes.

And Golden’s study of Florida State?

“There’s a couple things I noticed,” he said.
