Cox Georgia Tech's uniforms have been in a constant change over the past 20 years, from the shade of gold and white to numbers trims to jersey and helmet design. Here is a small sampling of this era of Jackets uniforms: 2 / 22 Mike Powell Georgia Tech wore navy blue jerseys with white pants for home games from 1988-91. 3 / 22 Ken Levine Periodically from 1987 until 1994, Georgia Tech’s home jersey was navy blue, worn with gold pants. The look was reminiscent of the 1940s teams, which also wore navy blue jerseys with gold pants at Grant Field. 4 / 22 Jonathan Daniel The most well-known Georgia Tech uniform is the combination of white jersey, gold pants and gold helmet worn during the Jackets' 1950's heyday. The GT wasn't added to the Jackets' helmet until 1967. 5 / 22 Doug Pensinger Georgia Tech debuted white jerseys with gold numerals in a 1997 bowl game and wore various versions through 2002. Here is a version during a 1998 game. 6 / 22 Scott Halleran Tech resumed wearing white jerseys, gold pants and gold helmets, home and away, in 1995. Here is a version of that combination in a 1999 game. 7 / 22 Ezra Shaw In 2001, Tech changed the numeral font on the jerseys. Tech would stop wearing gold numerals in 2002. 8 / 22 Andy Lyons Since 2003, the Georgia Tech white and gold jerseys have featured blue numerals trimmed in white. 9 / 22 Erik S. Lesser The Jackets have occasionally worn gold jerseys since 1993, here is the 2003 version. 10 / 22 Doug Pensinger The Jackets have occasionally worn gold jerseys since 1993. This is the 2004 version. 11 / 22 Mike Zarrilli Georgia Tech's 2006 uniform once again featured blue numbers with gold trim. 12 / 22 AJC File For Georgia Tech's 2006 home game versus Virginia, the Jackets came out onto the field in 1950-60's style throwback uniforms. The differences included a white helmet with a stripe design and a gold "GT" decal. 13 / 22 Marc Serota Tech wore black jerseys with gold pants under head coach Bill Curry from 1980 to 1986. In 1985 the helmet featured a black GT and stripe for the members of the Black Watch club only. This 2006 version retains the tradition helmet, but pits the black jersey with white pants. 14 / 22 Mike Zarrilli The 2007 version of the Tech uniform had a more metallic look. It also continued a tradition started in 2003 of spelling "Yellow Jackets" above the numbers. 15 / 22 Mike Zarrilli When head coach Paul Johnson was hired in 2008, the Yellow Jackets adopted a new uniform style, featuring new striping on the pants and a richer yellow. 16 / 22 Kevin C. Cox In 2009, the uniforms again were altered. The biggest change came in the colors being turned from yellow to gold. 17 / 22 Scott Cunningham In 2012, Tech is brought back the white helmets to the Flats for the first time since 2006. The re-introduced white helmet featured a honey-comb design as the background. Tech traditionally wore a white helmet from 1964 until 1965 and then again from 1968-71. 18 / 22 Scott Cunningham The home navy jersey and white pants returned to Grant Field in 2012, this time featuring a white helmet. 19 / 22 Scott Cunningham Subtle changes to the 2012 uniforms included new striping on the pants and jerseys. 20 / 22 JOHNNY CRAWFORD /AJC The new uniforms also featured an all-white look from pant to helmet. 21 / 22 JOHNNY CRAWFORD / JCRAWFORD@AJC. For the 2013 uniform, Georgia Tech returned to a more traditional look. Of note, is the change from "Yellow Jackets" above the numbers to "Tech" started in 2012. 22 / 22 Hyosub Shin For 2015, Tech's jerseys featured a small change with two gold block stripes on the sleeves.
