The memory of Georgia Tech defensive tackle Brandon Adams will be kept alive in a very visible manner for each Yellow Jackets game this season. One player will wear Adams' No. 90 every game, coach Geoff Collins said Sunday.

The first honoree will be fellow defensive tackle Chris Martin, who was close friends with Adams, whose unexpected death in March stunned the team and fan base. Martin will wear the jersey in the team’s season opener at Clemson.

Martin has said that he has been motivated to honor Adams through his play.

“It’s just a different feeling when you know that somebody who would have been an all-conference player, a next-level player, is not here,” Martin said recently. “I feel like I’m only doing him justice by giving my all to try to be that same person.”

Tech will also wear decals on their helmets with Adams’ No. 90. The team also remembers him with a chant of “Big B!” — Adams’ nickname — performed before and after practice.
