Georgia Tech not only won Thursday night at McCamish Pavilion, but beat Clemson going away.
The Yellow Jackets gained momentum at the finish line, scoring on 11 of their final 16 possessions to hold off the Tigers 75-63.
After running its top-10 gauntlet against North Carolina, Duke and Louisville to open ACC play, Tech is now 10-6 overall and 2-2 in the ACC. Picked to finish 14th in the ACC, the Jackets are even in the ACC after four games for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
Clemson (11-5, 1-3) was foiled by Tech’s challenging interior defense, shooting 36.7 percent from the field. It was the Tigers’ second-lowest field-goal percentage of the season and their second-lowest scoring output.
Center Ben Lammers led the Jackets again, scoring 23 points with 10 rebounds, his eighth double-double of the season. Forward Quinton Stephens overcame a weak start to finish with 15 points, 12 in the second half.
Tech led nearly the entire way, getting contributions from guard Josh Heath (season-high eight assists) and guard Tadric Jackson (10 points with two 3-pointers).
