Georgia State’s new strength and conditioning center is open for business.

Players on the football team will lift weights in the building for the first time Wednesday morning after the fire marshall granted the certificate of occupancy on Tuesday.

The weights and other equipment were delivered and installed on Friday and Saturday last week.

The 7,000-square-foot building is next to the team’s offices on MLK Drive SE. It is projected to cost $600,000 with the equipment costing another $300,000.

The athletics department hoped to finish construction by Aug. 1, but there were delays.
