Last season: 12-20 (3-13 SEC, 6th in Eastern Division).

Returning starters: F Trey Thompkins, G Dustin Ware, F/C Albert Jackson

Starters lost: G/F Terrance Woodbury, G Corey Butler

Newcomers: Freshman guards DeMario Mayfield and Vincent Williams; redshirt freshman guard Ebuka Anyaorah, who missed all of last season with injury; and senior forward Tyler Whatley, a transfer from Wofford who sat out last season.

Frontcourt at a glance: Thompkins, who played well on the U.S. team that won the Under-19 World Championships in New Zealand during the summer, is Georgia's top returning scorer, rebounder, shot blocker and 3-point shooter. The Dogs need a big season from him. Jackson, the only four-year senior on the roster, looks to finish his UGA career strong. Jeremy Price made the SEC All-Freshman team two years ago but regressed last season. Chris Barnes returned from a knee injury last season and showed promise.

Backcourt at a glance: Ware started the final 13 games at point guard as a freshman last season and has impressed coach Mark Fox with his approach on and off the court. Freshmen Mayfield and Williams are Ware's backups. Former walk-on Ricky McPhee, a senior, can be a dangerous outside shooter. Travis Leslie has impressed in preseason after sitting out the final five games last season to focus on academics.
