More than 6.7 million viewers across the country watched Georgia's win over Auburn on CBS.

It was the second most-watched college football game in the nation last week, falling just short of the Oklahoma-Baylor prime-time game.

Georgia-Auburn averaged an audience of 6.772 million viewers Saturday afternoon, while Oklahoma-Baylor on ABC averaged 6.785 million Saturday night.

Georgia’s two previous games on CBS this season had larger audiences: 9.287 million viewers for the Sept. 21 game against Notre Dame and 6.978 million viewers for the Nov. 2 game against Florida.

The Georgia-Auburn game drew a 4.0 rating nationally, the highest for any college football game that day, and a 21.7 rating in the Atlanta TV market. The game drew a higher rating in one other market than in Atlanta: 39.2 in Birmingham, Ala. The rating is the percentage of  households tuned in on average.

Georgia will be back on CBS this week. The 3:30 p.m. game against Texas A&M on Saturday in Athens will be the Bulldogs' fourth time this season on the network and third time this month.
