Alabama and Florida State were confirmed Thursday as the teams who will meet in the 2017 Chick-fil-A Kickoff game.

The game will be the first regular-season college game in the Falcons’ state-of-the-art new stadium under construction adjacent to the Georgia Dome.

The game is set for Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017. The kickoff time and TV network were not announced.

“These teams represent the best in our sport,” said Gary Stokan, Peach Bowl president and CEO. “The best players, the best coaches, the best fans. It’s going to be a memorable start to the season.”
