Former Griffin standout Parks may join Georgia State
Aug 5, 2016
Former Griffin High standout Jaquez Parks may be the fourth quarterback joining Georgia State.
The Forsyth News said Parks has tweeted that he will be joining the Panthers. Georgia State coach Trent Miles said on Thursday that a player may be joining, but declined to name him, citing NCAA rules.
Parks led Griffin to its first state title since 1978 and 15-0 finish in 2013. He passed for 3,640 yards and rushed for 1,329 and was responsible for 45 touchdowns that season to earn Atlanta Journal-Constitution player of the year honors. He finished with more than 7,000 yards passing.
Georgia State started camp on Thursday. It will open its season hosting Ball State on Sept. 2 at the Georgia Dome. The Panthers went 6-7 last season and played in their first bowl game.
