Defensive lineman Cortez Alston left the team, coach Paul Johnson said Monday following the team’s spring-practice workout.

Alston, from the Westminster School, enrolled last year and redshirted. Alston made the decision to leave before spring practice began March 26. Alston was an unusual signee in that he chose Tech over Penn, an indication of the priority that he placed on academics in his decision.
