Georgia Tech A-back Charles Perkins’ injury status is “day to day” after a left-leg injury took him out of Saturday’s Georgia Southern game, but Johnson said he thought he’ll be able to play in Saturday’s game.

“We’ll know as we get into the week,” Johnson said Monday.

Perkins suffered the injury in the second quarter and returned briefly in the second half, but did not play after that. Perkins has earned a starting job as a senior and has shown a particular talent for blocking on the perimeter.

Johnson said he didn’t think there were any other significant injuries to players on the depth chart.
