Auburn will be without one of its best bench players when it faces Kentucky on Saturday.

Auburn forward Jordon Granger was ejected in the second half of Friday’s quarterfinal matchup against LSU after taking a punch at LSU’s Jordan Mickey. Granger’s closed-fist appeared to graze the back of Mickey’s head after the two tangled up battling for a rebound with 13:48 to go in regulation.

The two players had to be held back by their respective teammates on the court. Granger was assessed a flagrant technical foul for fighting and disqualified from the game while Mickey was also assessed a technical but allowed to continue.

As per NCAA rules regarding fighting, Granger will have to sit out the next game as an automatic one-game suspension. He was averaging 4.8 points per game for the Tigers.
