The 2017 ACC baseball tournament will expand from 10 teams to 12 and have a new format in changes announced by the conference on Wednesday.

The Atlantic and Coastal division winners, followed by the 10 teams with the highest conference winning percentage, will participate in the tournament. The division winner with the best winning percentage within conference play will be the No. 1 seed. The other divsion winner will be seeded No. 2.

The tournament, recently moved from North Carolina to Louisville, will start with pool play with three teams in each group playing a round-robin format. Three games will be held Tuesday-Friday, with the top team from each pool advancing to the semifinals, which will be played on Saturday. The championship will be on Sunday.

Ten teams from the ACC advanced to the NCAA championship last season. That total tied for the most in NCAA history.
