A look back at Aaron Murray's injury scare

Barnhart picks Georgia to finish second in the division, with redshirt freshman Aaron Murray the No. 1 QB after spring practice.

Murray, who started all 13 games as a redshirt freshman last season, had one of the best seasons for a QB in UGA history and was a major bright spot for the Dogs.

Murray passed for 3,049 yards, the second most by a freshman in SEC history, and 24 touchdowns, tied for the second most by any player in UGA history.

In his first start against rival Georgia Tech last November, Murray was 15-of-19 for 271 yards and three touchdowns in the Dogs' 42-34 victory.

The strong performance against the Jackets occurred one game after suffering a bruised knee and sternum in a loss to Auburn.

Murray passed for 313 yards and three TDs against the Gators, but also had three INTs as the Dogs lost in overtime.

Murray has shown an ability to bounce back from injuries - major or minor - in the past. As a high school senior in Tampa, Murray suffered a broken leg in October of 2008, but played again two months later.

The other scholarship QBs in the program right now are rising sophomore Hutson Mason, who passed for 102 yards in four games last season, ...
