College Recruiting: Tennessee's Lane Kiffin

On Tuesday, March 10, the Vols - with Kiffin at the helm - took to the field for the first day of spring practice.

The 2009 spring practice at Tennessee's Haslam Field was the first since 1991 not under the direction of longtime Vols coach Phillip Fulmer, who led the Vols from 1992-2008, exiting Tennessee with a career 152-52 record.

Kiffin's short tenure at Tennessee hasn't been without controversy. Since taking the job in December 2008, he's accused Florida coach Urban Meyer of cheating in recruiting, overseen a Vols Junior Day during which assistant UT coaches ripped off their shirts in an attempt to fire up prospects and has denied telling South Carolina recruit that he "would end up pumping gas for the rest of his life" if he didn't sign with UT.
