Athlon Sports included Georgia's A.J. Green and Terrence Edwards among its list of the 10 best SEC wide receivers of the BCS era.

Green ranks No. 3 behind Florida’s Percy Harvin and Vanderbilt’s Jordan Matthews. Says Ahtlon: “Based on raw talent alone, Green is the one of the greatest receivers to play the game. In a league not known for big passing numbers, Green led the SEC in yards and touchdowns as a true freshman. His rare blend of size, speed, vertical ability and red zone ball skills makes him one of the game’s most uncoverable targets.”

Edwards is No. 7 with Josh Reed (LSU), Julio Jones (Alabama) and Randall Cobb (Kentucky) at Nos. 4 through 6. Athlon on Edwards: “When he graduated from UGA, Edwards was the SEC’s all-time leading receiver in yards and was No. 2 in receptions. Both records have since been broken but Edwards’ legacy is unchanged as one the league’s best pass-catchers.”

Alshon Jeffery (South Carolina), Dwayne Bowe (LSU) and Earl Bennett (Vanderbilt) round out the top 10.

Georgia’s Fred Gibson is included among the “best of the rest.”
