Georgia State’s early signees class off to strong start

After winning its first bowl game on Saturday, Georgia State is building its next era of players.

During the inaugural Dec. 20 signing period, the Panthers are announcing their new recruits on the official team Twitter (@GSUPanthers). Coach Shawn Elliott has been using his Carolina ties to the fullest.

Here’s who has signed with the Panthers so far (as of 9:15 a.m. Wednesday):

-CB Tyler Gore, North Myrtle Beach HS (South Carolina)

-DE T.J. Smith, Scotland HS (North Carolina)

-S Jacorey Crawford, Thomson HS (Georgia)

-DE Tre Moore, Strom Thurmond HS (South Carolina)

-DE Marlon Young, Opelousas HS (Louisiana)

-WR Diondre Champaigne, Fort Dorchester HS (South Carolina)

-OL Brandon Joseph, Central Gwinnett HS (Georgia)

-ILB Blake Carroll, Mountain View HS (Georgia)
