Georgia Tech commit Bruce Jordan-Swilling might still be playing at running back for Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, La., but he’s proving he’s ready for the next level.

In Brother Martin's season opener Friday night, Jordan-Swilling rushed for 142 yards on 3- carries and three touchdowns for a 33-20 win over Plaquemine High School, according to Nola.com.

Nola.com goes on documenting Jordan-Swilling’s one-yard touchdown run in the second quarter that tied the game at 20. Brother Martin was down 14-0 before a two-hour rain delay, then came back on the field to outscore Plaquemine 33-6.

Cornerback and teammate Tre Swilling, also a Georgia Tech commit for 2017, caught one of three interceptions in the season opener.

Jordan-Swilling spoke to Nola.com quoted post-game that Brother Martin would be more focused in practice the rest of the season and not let the fact that they’re were ranked No. 1 in the state influence how they prepare.

“We just had to over come adversity,” Jordan-Swilling said. “We had the rain delay; it was thundering and I kept talking to my team and telling them to keep their heads in the game because its never over.”

Brother Martin plays their next game Friday night at 7:00 against St. Stanislaus High School at home. St. Stanislaus has won their first three games of the season by at least a 13-point margin.
