Ratings for Braves telecasts on Fox Sports South and Fox Sports Southeast grew 13% in the Atlanta TV market this season to their highest level since 2013.
The games averaged a 3.62 rating as the Braves won a second consecutive National League East championship this year, up from a 3.2 rating in the 2018 season.
This season's increase followed a much larger jump last year, when Braves ratings in the Atlanta market soared 76% from 1.82 in the 2017 season. Last year's increase came as the Braves emerged from four consecutive losing seasons with their first division title since 2013.
In 2013, Braves games on Fox Sports South/Southeast averaged a 4.1 rating in Atlanta. But the ratings then plummeted over the next three seasons along with the team’s record.
The rating represents the average number of households, out of every 100 in the market, watching the games.
Fox Sports South/Southeast’s highest-rated Braves game locally this year was the Sept. 6 game against the Washington Nationals (6.0), followed by the NL East-clinching win over the San Francisco Giants on Sept. 20 (5.91). August games averaged a 4.41 rating, the highest-rated month for Braves telecasts since July 2013.
Ratings for the “Braves Live” postgame show increased 21% from 2018.
When compared with other programming aired at the same times, Braves games shown in prime time this season ranked No. 1 on cable TV in Atlanta and No. 2 on all TV in the market, according to the Fox regional sports networks. The prime-time games averaged a 3.89 rating across the season.
