Vince Carter’s three-pointer with 1:30 remaining gave the Hawks the lead for good Wednesday in their 100-96 victory over the Knicks in NBA preseason action in New York.

It was the only basket of the second half for the 42-year-old Carter, who had four three-pointers during a 14-point spurt late in the second quarter.

Trae Young led the Hawks with 23 points and nine assists. De’Andre Hunter added 15 while John Collins and Jabair Parker each added 12 for Atlanta (1-3), which will play its final preseason game Thursday in Chicago. Julius Randle scored 20 points to lead five players in double figures for the Knicks (1-2).
