Indications are that Mike Dunleavy Jr. will be waived and the guard will become a free agent this summer, according to a person familiar with the situation.

Dunleavy has a partially guaranteed season remaining on his contract with the Hawks worth $5,175,000. The deal is guaranteed for $1.6 million, but becomes fully guaranteed Saturday, the start of the NBA free-agency period.

The Hawks acquired Dunleavy as part of the Kyle Korver trade with the Cavaliers in January. Dunleavy appeared in 30 games for the Hawks and averaged 5.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 15.8 minutes. He shot .429 from 3-point range. The 36-year old has played 15 NBA seasons, with career averages of 11.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He has a career 3-point average of .377.

The Hawks recently acquired shooting guard Marco Belinelli as part of the Dwight Howard trade with the Hornets last week. Belinelli is in the final year of his contract that will play him $6.6 million.
