The Hawks waived training camp invitees Edgar Sosa and Arsalan Kazemi on Saturday. The moves bring the training camp roster to 18 players.

Neither Sosa nor Kazemi played in the team’s exhibition game Friday night agains the Pelicans in Jacksonville. They played sparingly in the exhibition opener Wednesday night against the Cavaliers in Cincinnati. Sosa, a point guard who played with the Dominican Republic national team this summer, played 2:14 and had one assist and one turnover. Kazemi, who signed with the Hawks a day before training camp after being with the 76ers, played 2:42 and had one rebound.

“They were great to have in camp, great guys,” Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. “Hopefully this will help them as the move on with their careers.”

The roster moves leaves Lamar Patterson, Terran Petteway, Earl Barron and DeQuan Jones in competition for the final roster spot.
