The Hawks signed first-round draft pick John Collins to a rookie contract Saturday. Terms were not disclosed by the team.

Collins was the 19th overall pick in the NBA draft. He is eligible for between 80 and 120 percent of the slotted salaries of $1,614,100 for the first year, $1,915,900 for the second year and $2,238,800 for a third year. He would have a 54 percent increase for a fourth-year option and 42.6 percent increase for a fifth-year qualifying offer.

Collins averaged 19.2 points and 9.8 rebounds as a sophomore at Wake Forest last season.

Collins is scheduled to play for the Hawks entry in the Las Vegas Summer League that begins July 7.
