Thabo Sefolosha knows all about the Thunder.

The Hawks guard/forward spent the last six seasons in Oklahoma City and was part of some solid teams. However, at the end of his tenure with the Thunder he was dropped from the starting lineup. He left for Atlanta via a sign-and-trade as he became a free agent.

So, there is a little extra motivation as he faces his former team Friday night.

“Definitely,” Sefolosha said. “I would be lying if I didn’t say that.”

Sefolosha averaged 6.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in 26.7 minutes with the Thunder. With the Hawks, he is averaging 5.2 points and 4.5 rebounds in 19.4 minutes. His defensive ability has been praised by Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer.

Thunder coach Scott Brooks said before Friday’s game that he is appreciative of Sefolosha’s time in Oklahoma City.

“He is a solid player,” Brooks said. “I have a lot of respect for what he did for us. He was very consistent in his role. He’s had some great years. He had lot of his better years for us. He started a lot of games for us and played a lot of minutes for us. We had a lot of success together.”
