The Hawks will be short-handed – again – when they play at the Cavaliers on Friday night.
And the list has grown.
The team’s updated injury report Friday listed five players as out and two new injuries.
The Hawks will be without Paul Millsap (left knee synovitis), Kent Bazemore (right knee bone bruise), Thabo Sefolosha (right groin strain), Dennis Schroder (right mid-foot sprain) and Dwight Howard (rest). Schroder was listed as doubtful, but then ruled out just before game time. The foot injury to Schroder is new to the injury report.
Tim Hardaway Jr. also was listed as doubtful with a left wrist sprain and a right knee contusion. Hardaway was probable for Thursday’s game against the Celtics with the knee issue, but the wrist sprain is new to the report. Hardaway started against the Cavaliers.
Coach Mike Budenholzer announced Thursday that Millsap would not play after his second game back after missing eight games. Millsap played 29 minutes in the 123-116 win over the Celtics on Thursday. Bazemore has played four games, all off the bench, since his return after missing five games. He played 19 minutes against the Celtics.
Hardaway has started in the absence of Bazemore and Sefolosha. The Hawks will be without four regular starters against the Cavaliers. The starting lineup was Jose Calderon, Hardaway, Taurean Prince, Ersan Ilyasova and Kris Humphries.
The Hawks also play the Cavaliers at home on Sunday afternoon. The season ends next week with games against the Hornets and at the Pacers.
