John Collins of the Atlanta Hawks claps during the third quarter of the game against New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on December 21, 2018 in New York City.

The Hawks listed John Collins has been listed as questionable ahead of Sunday’s game at the Pistons. The starting power forward is dealing with a left ankle sprain, according to the team’s injury report announced Saturday.

Collins has averaged 18.5 points and 9.9 rebounds in his 16 games this season after missing the start of the season with an ankle injury. He has posted a double-double in nine of the past 10 games, including a 17-point, 16-rebound performance in Friday’s win at the Knicks.

With Collins’ status in doubt, the team transferred forward Alex Poythress from the team’s G League affiliate in Erie. Poythress had miss 13 games with a left ankle contusion before he was transferred to Erie earlier this week. Poythress, on a two-way contract, has averaged 5.0 points and 3.8 rebounds in 15.0 minutes for the Hawks.

Also, Omari Spellman is nearing a return from right hip soreness that has sidelined the rookie forward the past seven games. He is listed as doubtful.

The Hawks injury report also lists Miles Plumlee (left knee pain) and Taurean Prince (left ankle sprain) as out.
