The defending NBA champion Cavaliers will make an early trip to Atlanta as the Hawks will host a preseason game at Philips Arena on Oct. 10.

The Hawks will play a seven-game preseason schedule this year and also will host the Pistons and the Pelicans. The schedule also includes games at the Grizzlies, at the Spurs, at the Magic and versus the Bulls in Omaha, Neb., to end the exhibition season. Times for the games will be finalized at a later date.

LeBron James and company will be the Hawks’ first home game of the preseason schedule. The Hawks have played the Spurs, coach Mike Budenholzer’s former team, in each of his seasons in Atlanta.

Tickets for the home games will go on sale at a later date.

Fox Sports Southeast will televise all three home games with Bob Rathbun and Dominique Wilkins. The Hawks’ flagship radio station of 92.9 the Game will broadcast the games against the Spurs, Cavaliers and Pelicans with Steve Holman.

There is no coverage planned the games against the Grizzlies, Magic and Bulls.
