Hawks head coach Lloyd Pierce said he’s completed his staff by adding Nate Babcock as a special assistant.

Babcock previously was an assistant coach for Erie of the G League, before that team became a Hawks affiliate. Pierce said player development will be Babcock’s primary responsibility with the Hawks. Babcock is the nephew of former Hawks general manager Pete Babcock.

Pierce’s staff includes five assistant coaches. They are Melvin Hunt (lead), Marlon Garnett , Chris Jent, Greg Foster and Matt Hill. Jent is the only assistant retained from the staff of Pierce’s predecessor, Mike Budenholzer.
