Hawks swingman DeAndre’ Bembry’s bad injury luck continued into the offseason when the Hawks announced that he suffered a fractured right wrist. The team said Bembry would need four to six weeks to recover.

Bembry sustained the injury during the game at Boston on Sunday, according to a person familiar with the injury. A video replay of the game appeared to show Bembry jam his wrist against Celtics guard Jaylen Brown’s body as the two players chased after a loose ball.

Bembry stayed in that game and also played 22 minutes during Tuesday’s finale against the Sixers. The Hawks said an MRI performed Wednesday revealed the fracture.

Bembry suffered a fracture in the same wrist during the season opener at Dallas on Oct. 18, the first of several injuries that contributed to him playing only 26 games in his second NBA season.

The Hawks announced Sept. 13 that a strained right triceps injury would keep Bembry out four to six weeks. Bembry beat that timeline, but suffered the wrist fracture in the season opener.

Bembry returned to the court in mid-November, but couldn’t hold a spot in coach Mike Budenholzer’s rotation. The Hawks sent to Bembry to their G League affiliate in Erie in late December. He played in three games there before developing problems with his left groin.

Bembry sat out for nearly three weeks, returned to play 13 minutes for Erie in a Jan. 19 game and then went back to the injured list with what the Hawks said was Grade 1 strain to his left adductor muscle.
