Hawks assign Tavares, Patterson to D-League
The Hawks assigned Edy Tavares and Lamar Patterson to the NBA Development League Friday.
Both will play for the Austin Spurs, via the flexible assignment rule, and are expected to play a pair of weekend games. They will then re-join the Hawks in California for the upcoming road trip.
The Austin Spurs have a home-and-home series with the Oklahoma City Blue this weekend. They play in Oklahoma City on Saturday at 2 p.m. and in Austin on Sunday at 6 p.m.
Patterson has appeared in 35 games for the Hawks and averaged 2.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 11 minutes. The guard/forward has had three previous stints in the D-League.
Tavares has appeared in 10 games for the Hawks and averaged 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in seven minutes. The center has had seven previous stints in the D-League, six with Austin and one with the Canton Charge.
The move leaves the Hawks with a roster of 11 players for upcoming home games against the Bulls on Friday and the Hornets on Sunday.
