The Hawks announced the re-signing of Kent Bazemore on Thursday.

The move came after the starting small forward and the Hawks agreed to a four-year, $70 million contract on Friday, the first day of the NBA free agency period. The deal became official on the first day following the end the league moratorium period.

“We are excited to re-sign Kent and welcome him back to the Hawks,” Hawks President of Basketball Operations/Head coach Mike Budenholzer said in a statement. “His passion for the game is contagious and through his tireless work ethic, he has developed into a dynamic two-way player. We look forward to his continued development with us.”

Bazemore, 27, set single-season career highs nearly every statistical category last season, his second with the Hawks after signing as a free agent in 2014. He averaged 11.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 27.8 minutes in 75 games, including 68 starts last season.
