The Hawks continued to make deals before the NBA trade deadline - and they still may not be done.

The Hawks acquired point guard Derrick Walton and cash from the Clippers for a highly protected second-round pick Thursday afternoon, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution confirmed. The trade was first reported by ESPN. The AJC also confirmed the ESPN report that the Trail Blazers have traded Skal Labissiere (who averaged 5.8 points and 5.1 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game this season) and $1.9 million to the Hawks.

According to one person familiar with the situation, the Hawks are “still working” ahead of the 3 p.m. deadline.

Walton averaged 2.2 points and 1.0 assists in 9.7 minutes in 23 games with the Clippers.

The Hawks had an open roster spot after Wednesday’s trade for Clint Capela and the waiver of Nene. They will have another roster spot once a trade with the Kings is complete, as the Hawks agreed to a deal to obtain Dewayne Dedmon for Jabari Parker and Alex Len.

The Hawks have several point guards on the roster, including starter Trae Young and backups Jeff Teague and Brandon Goodwin, so it appears unlikely that Walton will remain with the team.
