Atlanta Hawks head coaches

The Hawks hired Mike Budenholzer as the 28th regular head coach in franchise history, including 12 since the team moved to Atlanta.

The Hawks hired Mike Budenholzer to replace Larry Drew as head coach. Budenholzer, a longtime assistant with the San Antonio Spurs, becomes the franchise's 28th head coach.

Larry Drew took over as Hawks head coach in 2010. Drew coached in 230 games over two season with a 128-102 record.

Mike Woodson coached the Hawks from 2004 until 2010. Woodson's record was 206-286 in the regular season and 11-18 in the postseason.

Terry Stotts coached the Hawks briefly for 137 games in 2002 through 2004. He has a record of 52-85.

Lon Kruger coached in 191 games as the Hawks head coach and had a record of 69-122.

Hall of Fame head coach Larry Wilkens was with the Hawks from 1993 until 2000 winning 310 of 542 regular season games. Wikens had a .362 record in the postseason (17-30) as the Hawks' head coach.

Bob Weis coached the Hawks through 246 games, winning 124 games from 1990 through 1993. He had a 2-6 record in the postseason.

Mike Fratello coached the Hawks for seven seasons and posted a 324–250 record, making the playoffs five times and winning the Central Division in 1987 with 57 wins. Fratello ranks 19th on the NBA's all-time win list and 21st in games coached.

Kevin Loughery coached the Hawks from 1981-84, leading the Hawks twice to first round exits in the NBA playoffs. Loughery had an 85-79 record while in Atlanta.

Hubie Brown coached the Hawks through 407 games over 1976-1981 seasons. He won 199 games while with Atlanta and had a 6-10 record in the postseason.

Cotton Fitzsimmons, talking with Maravich, was at the helm from 1972-75, posting a regular season record of 140-180 and going 2-4 in postseason play. (Bud Skinner)

Richie Guerin was Hawks head coach during their move from St. Louis, with his Atlanta tenure from 1968-72. He went 327-291 in regular season play, 26-34 postseason and, in Atlanta on Oct. 20, 1970, gave last-minute instructions to "Pistol" Pete Maravich before his professional basketball debut.
