The contract.

Even 25 years after signing a six-year, $13 million deal that even surprised himself, Jon Koncak can be walking around in Atlanta and hear, “Hey, Jon Contract.’’

He said: “I am seven feet tall and when I walk around, everybody notices. And I was at the Hawks game about a week ago with my younger daughter who was coming through town and a guy walked by me and said, ‘Hey, Contract.’ I get that once every three or four years. I shook the guy’s hand and he smiled. I wouldn’t address someone like that but I understand. When I got the offer from the Hawks, I was shocked, my agent was shocked, my parents were shocked, the fans were shocked. But it wasn’t the fans’ fault. They were just reacting to the situation. If we as a team would have played well after that, it wouldn’t have been a big deal at all.’’
